IRS declaration states

After being applied your IRS declaration passes through several states. We are going to figure out the meaning of them.

How can I check the state of my IRS declaration?

All your IRS declarations for the last five years you can find in the list of your IRS declarations in your personal area on the financial portal. Select the year and tap PESQUISAR. The current state of a declaration will be indicated in blue letters in the left column. It makes sense to check state changes no more than once in a day or two.

So, the states are

  • Rececionada – aguarda validação (received – awaiting verification). The very first step. The declaration is being checked to ensure that all required fields are filled in and that the declaration does not contradict itself.
  • Declaração certa (checked). All required fields are filled in, the declaration does not contradict itself and is ready for tax calculation.
  • Declaração com anomalias / Erro central (contains errors). According to the tax department, the declaration contains erroneous information or data that cannot be verified. The errors should be corrected within 30 days, and a new declaration containing the corrections should be applied (Corrigir a declaração já enviada com erros de validação central).
  • Declaração substituída (substituted declaration). The declaration will not be processed, since a new one has been submitted instead.
  • Declaração não liquidável (cannot be processed). A special state for some declarations filed as replacements and not on time.
  • Liquidação processada (calculation completed). The declaration is passed the state “Declaração certa” and the tax calculation has been performed.

Next: When you have a tax refund

  • Reembolso emitido (calculation is finished and the refund has been paid). A bank order is issued to transfer the funds; within a few days, expect them having been transferred to the account specified in the declaration.
  • Pagamento confirmado (the payment is confirmed). The money has been transferred to the bank account specified in the declaration.

Or you should pay a tax

  • Nota de cobrança emitida (billing note issued). You have to pay tax, and a document with payment details has already been issued.
  • Notificação emitida (payment notification sent). The taxpayer is notified that the payment document is available.

Neither payment, nor refund

  • Saldo nulo emitido (zero balance). The final tax balance is zero, so no refund receipt or payment receipt will be issued.
